The Rastrick Independent School

 

The four departments, Camp Close Lea, Close Lea, Phoenix House and Grammar School are known as THE RASTRICK INDEPENDENT SCHOOL.

Rastrick Independent School has raised its age to 16 years or the end of year 11.  The school site has been developed accordingly with an extensive building and re-furbishing programme.  The new facilities include a Science Laboratory, an Art and Design Laboratory, a Bistro style dining room for Grammar School pupils, a Food Technology area, and extension to Library and Computer facilities, new Languages, Humanities, English and Mathematics departments and Music practice rooms.  Sports and Music have also been given priority.

The Curriculum is unique in that the school offers a wide range of academic and vocational subjects.  GCSE studies include Science, Mathematics, English, Geography, History, ICT, RE, PE, Music and Languages - French, German, Latin, and Russian.  Alongside these traditional academic subjects a full range of vocational courses are also offered.  The school caters for children of all abilities and has a record of outstanding academic success.  The teaching staff are highly qualified teaching specialists.  Students can join Rastrick at anytime of the year.  Bursaries are offered for years 7 - 11.  Classes are small.
