Welcome to the Main School

It is here that children enter a more formal stage of education, although importance is still placed on teaching through practical activities. Traditional learning skills are emphasised: the school intends to retain the best of the old, tried-and-tested methods, whilst developing a broad-based curriculum.

Each child has an individual education programme, and French is now taught as a specialist subject. Sports, music and extra-curricular activities also feature: these give children the opportunity to develop within their potential and to gain a well-balanced attitude towards healthy competition.

In this final stage, each child receives the best of formal educations, based on first-hand experiences. We believe that a good Preparatory School prepares children not only for the next phase of education, but also for life.

In September 2004 we gained Grammar School status and now accept students up to the age of 16 years. A purpose built department has been prepared. The Rastrick Independent School will undoubtedly take its place alongside the area’s top Grammar Schools.
